The Christmas Cracker – Date Change!

The countdown to Christmas starts here! The Greasley Christmas Cracker returns on Friday, 5th December 2025, and promises to be a night filled with festive sparkle, community spirit, and plenty of family fun.

Published: 10 November 2025

This is one week later than previously advertised, so make sure that you update your calendars, tell you friends, and get the Christmas jumpers

out well in advance.

Taking pride of place this year will be our brand-new living Christmas Tree. After sadly losing last year’s tree in the spring heatwaves, we’re delighted to see its replacement ready to shine. Don’t miss the magical light switch-on and low-noise fireworks at 7pm – a true highlight of the evening.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the Christmas Cracker without a familiar face… or perhaps a familiar frown! That’s right, the Greasley Grinch is making a return appearance. Last year he tried to spoil the fun with his mischief, but by the end of the night he couldn’t resist joining in the celebrations. Will he behave himself this year? You’ll have to come and see!

There will be lots for children to enjoy completely free of charge, including:

  • Kids crafts
  • Balloon modelling
  • Magic shows
  • A special Christmas gift from Santa

For the grown-ups (and hungry little ones too), there’ll be a bigger choice of refreshments than ever before. Look out for tasty hot meals, beautifully wrapped festive treats, and steaming hot chocolate with all the trimmings. The Parish Hall kitchen will be serving tea, coffee and juice throughout the evening, and our usual tasty treat section will be fully stocked with everything from sausage rolls and pies, to cakes and biscuits.

On stage, expect a fantastic line-up of performances. We’re very excited to welcome back the children of Greasley Beauvale Primary School for their always-popular carol concert, and local favourites B2 will also return after wowing the crowd at Greasley Sounds this summer. With the addition of a new stage and PA system, performances will be bigger and brighter than ever.

The evening will also feature stalls and games from local charities, community groups, and small businesses, offering everything from festive goodies to unique handmade gifts – perfect for those early Christmas purchases.
