Published: 22 January 2024

Are you community-minded and passionate about where you live?
Do you want to help make a real change to your village?
Do you have ideas that could help those around you?
Do you have a concern and would like to do something about it?
If you said yes to any of those questions, or if someone you know came to mind and you think they might be interested in putting those attributes to good use, please get in touch to find out more about Greasley Parish Council.
We need people from all backgrounds and experiences who reflect their community to put themselves forward for co-option to become a Councillor. We currently have 6 vacancies available and encourage as many Greasley residents as possible to help us make a positive impact on the people and places around us.
Councillors volunteer their time to represent the whole of Greasley so, no matter which area you are from, your voice can and will make big changes to improve the lives of over five thousand people.
The Council meets 11 times per year, usually on the second Monday of the month at 7pm. Meetings are held at Greasley Sports and Community Centre, Dovecote Road, Newthorpe. We currently have several optional committees and active working groups, focusing on specific issues or areas of expertise.
If you have lived in the parish (or within 3 miles of it) for at least a year and are over 18 you are probably eligible.
To express your interest or get a full list of the eligibility criteria, get in touch or visit our website.
